Mickey Mouse is a familiar sight at Disney World in Orlando, Fla., Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., and various theme parks around the world. This year, however, you’ll find the large-eared one waving from the pontoons of a floatplane in Alaska and bopping around the golden shores of Oahu.
Disney is always innovating, and this year it will launch a treasure-trove of new travel opportunities. Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the 4,000-passenger Disney Dream, sets sail on its maiden voyage this week. A different ship, the Disney Wonder, will offer Disney’s first cruises to Alaska starting in May. Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, is scheduled to open this summer on Oahu. Adventures by Disney, which offers guided family vacations on six continents, will launch its first Egypt itineraries this spring.
